Is astral projection possible

I've never done it before, but I heard it can be done. So how would I be able to do it?

It's just a type of lucid dreaming, you don't leave your body in any real sense - you just imagine that you do.
People love to claim that they are really travelling the world but there is not one scrap of evidence that it is so.

'Shenaynay' has the answer spot on, astral projection is impossible, during the 'cold' war both the USA and the then USSR poured billions into researching astral projection, telekinesis and telepathy for their obvious military potential, have you heard of either of them using it today? they both gave it up as a bad job having gained zilch.

I doubt it, though there's a load of people here on Yahoo saying they can. They make all sorts of claims and insist they've proved it. The weird thing is they only prove it to themselves. You have to ask yourself, Why?? An astral projector could use that gift to help people or enrich themselves. Projectors could help find lost pets or children. They could help the police find dangerous criminals like murderers and pedophiles. Imagine the lives astral projectors could save after a disaster.
If the projector weren't the charitable type, they could be out finding treasure or locating oil and minerals for corporations.
the fact is on astral projectors, all you can find are boasters, either the delusional type or the pretend role players. Try and find one person using astral projection in a practical way. I challenge anyone to reveal one astral projector that isn't a fool or fibber.

I think it amounts to self induced hallucination, and I think that, yeah, given the weird rituals involved you probably can force yourself into it. To what purpose is open to question.
