The world today is full of demonism. So we have to take up this spiritual armor from God to protect ourselves from the deceptions and machinations of Satan and his demons. We also have to strengthen our faith in God by studying the Bible.
Therefore, there´s no need to fear the dead. The Bible compares death to a sleep. (John 11:11) Thus rejoice in the resurrection hope. Your mom is gonna be awakened from that "sleep" very soon when Jesus resurrects people from the memorial tombs. (John 5:28, 29)
Demons will continue misleading mankind but there´s no need to fear them. The Bible says at James 4:7, 8:
Subject yourselves, therefore, to God; but oppose the Devil, and he will flee from YOU. 8 Draw close to God, and he will draw close to YOU.

Thank you.Yes, praying with them is very important. It builds them up emotionally and spiritually. As you could see, the Bible ha the answers for all our problems. Just correcting, those very important scriptures above are Psalm 146:3, 4.

It was probably a dream or some type of autosuggestion. I don't think 'spirits' or 'ghosts' actually exist but often our minds can play very powerful tricks that are son convincing that you actually believe you have seen something. As long as he took comfort from it I wouldn't worry too much.

I'm so sorry for your loss. If your son was asleep, it's very possible he was dreaming, and if he was awake, it's also very possible that he's seen her. It's possible that he had a need that her appearing to him helped, one that is deeper than grief. Who knows, I'm just throwing out an idea. I've wanted, so very bad, to see my mom, but it's been 6 yrs and I haven't seen her yet, however, my sister, who wasn't as close to her as I was, saw her once, a couple of years after her death. Sometimes it doesn't seem fair, but, I'm sure there's reasons that we're unaware of, even the recipient isn't aware of. Just talk to your mom like she was there, she IS with you, in spirit. Hugs to you.
Added: No, please don't stress out about this. Because her spirit visited your son doesn't mean that he's next or it was a warning, and I'm saddened that they've put you through this undue stress. As I said, my sister was visited by our mother several years ago, she's alive and well, nothing bad happened either. I'm very sure there was just a need that only God and my mom knew, just as the situation with your son. Please don't let this upset you, see it as a blessing for your son.
