Later, I had a friend, an older woman who had two kids, a boy and a girl. I used to babysit them alot and they had been used to being on their own, so they were really a handful! My sister and I used to tell them stories that would basically scare them into behaving. They did not believe us about the ouija board so we went to the store and bought one. The kids were very serious about watching to make sure our fingers were not touching the planchette in order to move it because you are only supposed to lightly touch it. And at this time we did not really know what we were doing as we did not bless it and say things to open or close the board. I thought she was going to move it and she thought I was going to move it. Neither of us moved it but it was moving, we were so creeped out we did not even record what it was doing. We stopped immediately and put it in my friends hall closet way in the back on the shelf under alot of stuff and forgot all about it. About 3 months later my friend ran out of gas and used a gas can.( this was when they were still metal and it was sitting in the corner of her living room. She kept forgetting to take it back. It was there for 2 months, suddenly one night while we were sitting there watching a movie it suddenly flew up hit the ceiling and fell back down. It really gave us a fright. After that some of her doors would slam open and then slam shut. Later a friend of hers asked us if he could have the board we said yes and 3 weeks later he still had it in his car when he had an accident and died.
Many years later my daughter when she was 10 did not believe all the stories she has heard about ouija boards. So after months of her begging I relented and said fine I will buy you one. We went up to Toys R us. They were packed so tight on the shelf I bent my nails backwards trying to pull one out (ouch!) I went to try once more and then it just came out. I handed it to my daughter told her since she wanted it she could carry it. We walked up and down the ailes to see what else they had, and in each aisle things were flying off the shelves. Now this was not like someone came and swept them off the shelves they were flung. When we got to the bicycle aisle where they hang the bikes up I took one step and looked up and saw them swaying and said no way not walking down there, my daughter left the board at the store.
