Took some allergy medication and now i have to take a random drug test tomorrow

so i took some allergy medication last night because i was having an allergy attack. then this morning my manager calls me and tells me that i have to take a drug test either today or tomorrow. will the medication show up in the drug test? if it does can i explain to them that i took the medicine, would they care?

the medicine is a generic walgreens brand and it has acetaminophen, phenylephrine HCI, and chlorpheniramine maleate

You should be OK so I wouldn't worry too much. The only drug here that I can see which may cause a problem on the test is phenylephrine because it is a mild stimulant but then again, they would have to be specifically testing for this chemical in the first place in order to obtain a positive result so it will be fine. Most stimulants have what's called an amine functional group (NH2) attached to the molecule and that's what they test for when they test for any form of stimulant. Good luck.
