I am having surgery on my mouth in a couple of weeks, under general. I've read a couple of stories of how these two teen girls died of an allergic reaction to the anesthesia. It leaves me concerned about the safety of it. Is there any testing for it? like, what if i go under and I am allergic? It will be too late.. I am only 17.. I don't want to die..

An allergy to general anesthesia is rare. Unless there is some genetic factor that you are aware of, chances are that you aren't allergic.
In the case that you are, there are medications that can reverse the effect of the anesthetic.
You'll be fine.

out of the millions and millions of surgeries done using general anesthesia, all you've heard about is two? its a rare thing to be allergic too. you would have to have a predisposition to it, genetics. if anyone in your family has had this happened to them, then contact your dentist about this. but if not, theres no worries
