Im 15 years old and im going to start highschool soon and i want to know what grades i need to have to be able to become a doctor. Ive also heard of a program called EVIT but i was wondering if that would help me and if i should take it or not. Also, what subjects do i have to know really well of? Currently, im in accelerated math but science, then im only average..and what electives should i take in highschool thatll help me? This is sort of random but ive watched Greys Antatomy and i was wondering is that really how becoming a doctor is like?

Some facts for you:
1. Grey's Anatomy is fiction. Real life isn't nearly that dramatic.
2. High school doesn't matter much. Do well enough to get into college. If you're med school material, you'll be getting all A's anyway.
3. A's are passing. Anything less than that is failing. If you become a doctor, your patients will expect perfection. You should start expecting of yourself now.
4. Medicine = science. You'll need to really know that stuff. It will help you to take biology, chemistry and physics in high school, so that when you take them in college, you will start out with a clue.
5. High school is the time to have fun and be a kid. You can't go back and do that later. Go out and have fun.
6. High school electives? Take something fun, like art or music or welding. Nothing you do in high school is going to affect your chances at getting into med school, unless there is jail time involved.

I couldn't have said it better than P. Just relax and enjoy high school. If you want to get into a really good college they care more about extracurricular activities like volunteering or sports just as much if not more than grades. And like the other poster said, med school is extremely hard and demanding so just figure out if you'd be able to handle that. Being a family doctor would be exciting, but also gross, weird, and tiring. You just have to want it bad enough to take the bad with the good. Hope that helps :)
