When I saw how high it was I freaked. I have been out of my lisinipril for about 2 or 3 weeks, but my mom had given me something else for blood pressure so I took one, and waited 5 minutes checked and my blood pressure was way back where it should be. Was there just something wrong with my monitor or was it actually that high? I've never had a bad reading like that before on it. I know I've been stressing out over finals, I haven't ate anything today. I'm at a loss as to why it would change so quick. Surely the the blood pressure pill doesn't work that quick. Someone give me some information as to why this would happen. Thank you!!

Blood pressure can vary significantly over the course of just a few minutes, depending on your mood, activity level, what you've eaten, even whether you have to pee. If your blood pressure is a concern, take three readings within ten minutes and average them out.

That's happened to me too, but mostly relating to pulse. If the machine is inconsistent, you need to take more readings, and perhaps try other machines. I lowered my pulse by 20bpm in a matter of minutes just by breathing techniques.
