I read a book a long time ago about these shapes that had lives. I can't really remember much, these are the only details I remember:
This character was trying to get people to understand these people he met in other dimensions, but they couldn't comprehend anything beyond their dimension. I remember him trying to explain that the shapes weren't flat like them, they went up and down and had space within them. He also met a dot, and he couldn't explain himself to the dot because it was one dimensional, and couldn't comprehend a second dimension.
That's all I remember. Anyone know what I'm talking about? 10 pts for the first person that gives the correct answer :-)
