I will just blank on some stuff but not on others. I'll forget a portion of the steps or just 1 step. I got high B grades in algebra 2 but in Pre calc so far I've had one quiz and it will be a B IF my teacher feels merciful. Thankfully it doesn't count for many points.
What are some things I can do to not forget steps? It is crazy frustrating and people tell me not to worry about it but honestly I really want to get really good math. Thanks.

That's the point about taking a test, one might know the concept well, but must remain calm and relaxed in order to perform well.

I had the same problem - I took the same math class 4 semesters in a row until I finally aced it. My problem was confidence in my ability to do well so I'd either blank out what I was supposed to do or question my memory and end up confusing myself. The best way to handle it is to practice as many problems as you can, and hard ones too, so that you'll have enough confidence to do problems of any difficulty.

You need to go through the new bits several times (not just before the exam) and hook the new bits into what you already know. Search out examples from a number of different sources and work them out, make up your own examples, just have a play with the concepts and find out their limits.
