If my apartment building creeks does that mean its unsafe

So during the day everyday and throughout the night my three floor apartment building, with me living on the bottom floor creeks. Makes me a little nervous because I don't know if I should be expecting the building to fall down on me and my family. So please help.

Your heat either runs through steam pipes at about 100C,
or through tubing at about 90C when the boiler is firing.
In between the pipe temperature falls near room temperature
(about 20C).

the expansion and contraction is about ⅜".
Since the tubing is clamped to joists or wood studs (in most cases)
some squeaking and squealing (similar to a dinner plate being washed)
is known to occur. This would occur during heating season.

Creaking also occurs when subfloors warp and lift from
supporting joists. This would occur when there is foot traffic
on the floor and would be most noticeable from below.
This is not structural failure.

Outdoor activity which produces creaking indoors would be
cause for concern.

If it didn't creek you should worry, creeking is the natural "flex" of the building materials. If they didn;t flex they'd snap. Think of it like a wet twig and a dry twig, almost impossible to snap a wet twig, even if it moves a lot, but a dry twig never moves (or "creeks") but it just snaps. Capice?

Lol, no, owners of apts.are required to have safety inspections done. If your too worried, ask your landlord or bldg owner for that to see. If they were to refuse it to you, then I would worry. But ALL bldgs keep settling throughout it's life span. Floor boards, walls. Remember change in weather ups & downs cause expanding & contracting which will cause bldgs/homes to make noises.
