Trig question with imaginary numbers

i^3+i(2-1)
My teacher got i+1 but I keep getting 0

i^3+i(2-1)
= i^2*i + 1i
= -i + i
= 0

Definitely not i + 1. Either you wrote down the equation wrong or your teacher is solving a different equation.
