Calculate solutions simultaneously : y=2x-2 and 2x^2=2-y^2

Its for my kid, and i just can't remember

2x² = 2 - (2x - 2)²
2x² = 2 - (4x² - 8x + 4)
2x² = - 4x² + 8x - 2
6x² - 8x + 2 = 0
3x² - 4x + 1 = 0
(3x - 1)(x - 1) = 0
x = 1/3 , x = 1
y = -4/3 , y = 0
