My friend and I were shopping there was a buy two get third item of clothing free deal, so we went in on it together... we are now debating how to split the discount fairly, haha.
I bought a 70 dollar item and a 30 dollar item, she bought a 40 dollar item, so we got the 30 dollar item free. We paid $110 total because we got the $30 charge taken off. She put it on her card, and i am supposed to pay her back, how much do i owe her, with the discount taken into account? I think there are percentages involved.? We both should get a deal but does one get more of a deal because she spent more?

Yes.
Total value bought: 70 + 30 + 40 = 140
Total spent: 70 + 40 = 110
30/140 = 21.43% discount (shared as 21.43 discount for you, 8.57 for your friend)
100 - 21.43% = 78.57 (your share of the purchases, which you should reimburse your friend for)
40 - 21.43% = 31.43 (friend's share of the purchases)
