1. During an action potential sodium diffuses into the neuron through various protein channels and potassium diffuses out. During a resting potential, potassium is within the neuron whilst sodium is outside the neuron.
2. Hypothalamus to pituitary gland link is the link between the nervous system and the endocrine system. Through neurohormones (hypothalamic-releasing hormones) the hypothalamus can inhibit or induce the secretion of hormones into the blood.
