I am horrible at math, so can you please check my answers for these? I want to make sure they are right, if they are not can you please explain how to do them correctly?
Solve and check for extraneous solutions.
1. 7+sq.rt.(2x-1)=10
I got 47
2. 4(x-9)^1/3=8
I got 15
3. sq.rt.(2x-1)=x-8
I got No Solution
Thank you to anyone who helps.

First
7+sq(2x-1)=10 {subtract 7}
sq(2x-1)=3 {square both sides}
2x-1=9 {add 1}
2x=10 {divide by 2}
x=5
Second
4(x-9)^1/3=8 {divide by 4}
(x-9)^1/3=2 {cube both sides}
x-9=8 {add 9}
x=17
Third
sq(2x-1)=x-8 {square both sides}
2x-1=(x-8)(x-8) {FOIL}
2x-1=x^2-16x+64 {add 1}
2x=x^2-16x+65 {subtract 2x}
0=x^2-18x+65 {Graph and find zeros}
x=13 and x=5
check
sq(2x-1)=x-8
sq(2*13-1)=13-8
sq(26-1)=5
sq(25)=5
5=5
sq(2x-1)=x-8
sq(2*5-1)=5-8
sq(10-1)=-3
sq(9)=-3
Umm finding the sqrt gives a positive and negative answer and one of them is right and the other is wrong so the answer might be 13 and 5 or just 13. but there is a solution. Im gonna have to ask my math teacher now lol.

1. the answer is 5. move the 7 to the other side to get sqrt(2x-1) = 3, then square both sides to get 2x-1 = 9. solving for x gets you to the answer of 5.
2. divide both sides by 4 to get (x-9)^(1/3) = 2. cube both sides to get x-9=8, x = 17. You were close on this one.
3. square both sides. this brings you to: 2x-1 = x^2 - 16x + 64. bring everything to one side to get: x^2 - 18x + 65 = 0. factoring this, your answer becomes x = 5 and x = 13.
2. divide both sides by 4 to get (x-9)^(1/3) = 2. cube both sides to get x-9=8, x = 17. You were close on this one.

1. sqrt(2x - 1) = 10 - 7
sqrt(2x - 1) = 3 whole ^2
2x-1 = 9
2x = 10
x = 10/2
x=5
so, try to do the rest in the same way.. post again if you have more questions :))

1. 7 + root(2x - 1) = 10
root (2x - 1) = 3
square both sides
2x - 1 = 9
2x = 10 so x = 5
--------------------------------------…
2. 4(x - 9)^1/3 = 8
(x - 9)^1/3 = 2
x - 9 = 2^3 = 8
x = 17
--------------------------------------…
root(2x -1) = x - 8
2x - 1 = (x - 8)^2
2x - 1 = x^2 - 16x + 64
x^2 - 18x +65 = 0
x = [+18 + or - root( 18^2 - 4*1*65)]/2
= [+ 18 + or - 8]/2
x = 10/2 or 24/2 = 5 or 13
(x - 5)(x - 13)
root (2x - 1) = 3
square both sides
2x - 1 = 9
2x = 10 so x = 5
--------------------------------------…
2. 4(x - 9)^1/3 = 8
(x - 9)^1/3 = 2
x - 9 = 2^3 = 8
x = 17

2x - 1 = x^2 - 16x + 64
x^2 - 18x +65 = 0
x = [+18 + or - root( 18^2 - 4*1*65)]/2
= [+ 18 + or - 8]/2
x = 10/2 or 24/2 = 5 or 13
(x - 5)(x - 13)
