IM supposed to convert y=8x and y=6 to slope intercept form (y=mx+b) but my teacher never showed me how!! Please help!!

Slope intercept form is this (as you stated):
y = mx + b
These are direct conversions:
y = 8x doesn't have the y-intercept (b), so add zero in it's place:
y = 8x + 0
y = 6 doesn't have the slope (m), so add a zero in it's place:
y = 0x + 6
The reason for the 'x' is that to match form, you have to have the x there. (There's more to it than that, but I don't have the time right now to go into it :)

First equation: b is zero, which means that when you graph the equation, the line goes through the origin. The slope-intercept form is y = 8x + 0.
Second equation: there's no x at all in the equation, so that makes m zero. The slope-intercept form is y = 0x + 6, and when you graph this one, it's a horizontal line at 6 on the y-axis.

y=8x+0 and y=0x+6
I suppose :D
