Make x the subject of the formula? Helpp

Could you please help me with making x the subject of the formula in these 2?

1) a/x + b = 1

2) y= Vx-a/x-b (V for square root)

x/a + 1/b = 1
x + a/b = a
x = a - a/b
2) y = [ (x-a)/x - b) ]^(1/2)
Y^2 = (x-a)/x - b
Y^2 = x/x - a/x - b
Y^2 = 1 - a/x - b
Y^2 + b - 1 = -a/x
( Y^2 + b - 1 )/(-a) = 1/x
-a/( Y^2 + b - 1 ) = x

1) a/x + b = 1
x + b = a + 1
x = a + b + 1

2) Nope.
