I dont get these two questions.
1.a rectangle has a width w and its length is 2 units shorter than 3 times the width, or 3w-2. Write a polynomial for the area of a rectangle.
2. Which product results in x^2-100?
A. (x-10)^2 B. x(x-100) C. (x+10)^2 D. (x+10)(x-10)
* ^2 means to the 2nd power
It would also be helpful to show the steps because i need to show my work.

1. Area is found by length times width
A=Lw
L=3w-2
w=w
A=(3w-2)(w)
A=3w^2-2w
2. x^2-100 you have to find which product works
a) when have (x-10)^2 it is the same as (x-10)(x-10) you have to foil the product so
First is x^2
Outer is -10x
Inner is -10x
Last is +100
when you put it all together you get x^2 - 20x +100 so that's not right
b) x(x-100) you have to distribute x to the quantity
so x^2-100x, thats not right
c) (x+10)^2 same as A (x+10)(x+10)
First is x^2
Outer is 10x
Inner is 10x
Last is 100
so x^2 +20x +100, not it
d) (x+10) (x-10)
First is x^2
Outer is -10x
Inner is 10x
Last is -100
so you get x^2-100, there's your answer
A=Lw
L=3w-2
w=w
A=(3w-2)(w)
A=3w^2-2w
