I have an iPhone 3GS that I jailbroke and now I wanted to unlock it using Ultrasn0w. A new version came out today that said it would work on my baseband which is 5.15.05. I installed it and now when I have the SIM card installed all it says is "Searching..." and that's it. What can I do to fix this?

ultrasn0w doesn't unlock the 05.15.05 baseband. The ultrasn0w package in Cydia lists the basebands supported by ultrasn0w, and 05.15.05 isn't one of them.
In order to unlock your iPhone 3GS, you will need to update to the 06.15.00 iPad baseband. See more about this and its caveats at the Dev Team's blog here:
