-for each equation set x = 0 then solve for y. then let y = 0 and solve for x. plot these two points and then draw line through themy= x - 5let x = 0 and we gety = 0 - 5 so y = - 5 and one point is (0,- 5)let y = 0 and we get0 = x - 55 = x so we have (5,0)plot (0,- 5) and (5,......
y = (1/4)x - 3

Therefore your slope is 1/4 and your y-intercept is -3. Your first point is (0, -3). Now move up 1 and right 4 (slope) and plot (1, 1). Keep going and connect the points with a line.

for each equation set x = 0 then solve for y. then let y = 0 and solve for x. plot these two points and then draw line through them

y= x - 5

let x = 0 and we get

y = 0 - 5 so y = - 5 and one point is (0,- 5)

let y = 0 and we get

0 = x - 5

5 = x so we have (5,0)

plot (0,- 5) and (5,0) and draw a line through these points

do the same for problem 2 and we get

0 + 4y = - 12

4y = - 12

y = - 3 so one point is (0, - 3)

let y = 0

- x + 4(0) = - 12

- x + 0 = - 12

- x = - 12

x = 12 so the other point is (12,0). plot the points and draw a line.

not sure exactly what you are asking
so....

y=x-5

get both variables on the same side of the equal sign
y-x= -5

set each variable to zero
when y=0, -x= -5
x= 5

when x=0, y= -5

gives you two points
(5,0),(0,-5)

plot them and connect the dots for your line

-x+4y= -12

when x=0, 4y= -12
y= -3

when y=0, -x= -12
x=12

gives you
(0,-3),(12,0)
