Find f(-2) given the function

[From: ] [author: ] [Date: 11-12-08] [Hit: ]
-1.when you insert -2 into each x in your function, you come up with f(-2) = 6e^(4+-2)+ 18 = 6 e^2 + 18 or approximately 62.2. f(1) = 5 e^(3-4(1)) + 10 = 5 e^(-1) + 10 or approximately 11.3.......
f(x)=-6e^(4+x)+18

2.) Find f(1) given the function f(x)=-5e^(3-4x)+10

3.) Find the domain of the function g(x)=log(base)3(x+2)+1

i have the answer key but I'm not sure how they got the answer Thank you!!

1.when you insert -2 into each x in your function, you come up with f(-2) = 6e^(4+-2)+ 18 = 6 e^2 + 18 or approximately 62.334
2. f(1) = 5 e^(3-4(1)) + 10 = 5 e^(-1) + 10 or approximately 11.839
3. domain of g(x) = log sub3 (x+2) +1 = [-1, infinite] <-- I believe this is correct

For something like f(-2), it's as simple as plugging in negative 2 everywhere you see an x, then solving.
