Algebra Word Problem Help! Problem below

In an entire season Brian scored twice as many points as Keith and Gary scored 102 more points than Keith. Combined they scored a total of 710 points. How many did each player score? IF YOU R GOOD @ MATH and or WORD PROBLEMS PLZ HELP! i don't have my notes to figure this out. That and i forget. :-) THANK YOU!!!

Both Brian and Gary relate their scores to Keith...so,

let x = Keith's score

then,

2x = Brian's score

x + 102 = Gary's score

x + 2x + (x + 102) = 710

solve for x...try...you can do it !

Brian scored 304
Gary scored 254

G= X+102

K+B+G=710

X + 2X + X + 102 = 710

4X + 102 = 710

4X = 608

K=152...........ANSWER

B=2*152
B=304...........ANSWER

G=152+102
G=254..........ANSWER

K=keith
G=gary

B=2*K
G=K+102
B+K+G=710

Plug the first 2 equations into the third

2*K+K+K+102=710
4K=608
K=152

B=2*152
B=304

G=102+152
G=254

B = 2k or

G = k + 102

B + K + G = 710

so....

G = 608 - B - K
B = 710 - K - G


so say K is 152
B = 304
G = 254
Total: 710
