. ... ........
y= (2x^3 + x^2 +x +3) / (x^2 +2x)
I have no idea how to solve this. Can anyone show me step by step so i know how to do it. thanks

Answer: y = 2x - 3

To find the slant asymptote, just use long division:

... ... ... .2x - 3
... ... ..._______________
x² + 2x | 2x³ + x² + x + 3
... ... ..-(2x³ + 4x²)
... ... ..-------------------
... ... ... ... ... -3x² + x
... ... ... ... ..-(-3x² -6x)
... ... ... ... ..---------------
... ... ... ... ... ... .. 7x + 3

Ignore the remainder, and your answer is the quotient:

y = 2x - 3

Hope that helps!
