13/x+7 - 12/x = -1
I tried several times and wasn't able to get an answer, please help and thank you!

Please watch your parentheses.
I assume that you mean:
... 13/(x+7) - 12/x = -1
or 13x - 12 (x+7) = -x (x+7)
or 13x - 12x - 84 = - x^2 - 7x
or x^2 + 8x - 84 = 0
or (x - 6) (x + 14) = 0
or x = { -14, 6 }
I assume that you mean:
... 13/(x+7) - 12/x = -1
or 13x - 12 (x+7) = -x (x+7)
or 13x - 12x - 84 = - x^2 - 7x
or x^2 + 8x - 84 = 0
or (x - 6) (x + 14) = 0
or x = { -14, 6 }

You really should use parenthesis to illustrate what your problem actually is.
I did the problem different because I interpreted the original problem different
( 13 / (x + 7 ) ) - ( 12 / x ) = -1
if this is what your problem actually is ( which I assume it is, otherwise you wont actually have a quadratic once simplified ) Then this is how I solved it.
1. Move 12/x to right side of equation, thus becoming positive.
2. Multiply both sides of equation by ( x + 7 ) to get rid of denominator on left side
at this point I had
13x = 12x + 84 - x^2 - 7x
Now simply just re arrange so the whole thing is set equal to zero
-x^2 - 8x + 84 = 0
Now using quadratic formula with A = -1, B = -8, C = 84
x = -14 x = 6

I am not sure what is your equation..
if it is 13/(x+7)-12/x=-1, x the answer is x=-14 or x=6
if your equation is (13/x)+7-(12/x)=-1, the answer is x= - 1/8
if it is 13/(x+7)-12/x=-1, x the answer is x=-14 or x=6
if your equation is (13/x)+7-(12/x)=-1, the answer is x= - 1/8

did you forgot a parenthesys?
13/(x+7) - 12/x = -1 , where x ≠ 0 and x ≠ - 7
13 x - 12 ( x+ 7 ) = - x (x + 7)
13x - 12x - 84 = - x^2 - 7x
-x ^2 - 8x + 84 = 0
and you know from here
13/(x+7) - 12/x = -1 , where x ≠ 0 and x ≠ - 7
13 x - 12 ( x+ 7 ) = - x (x + 7)
13x - 12x - 84 = - x^2 - 7x
-x ^2 - 8x + 84 = 0

13x/x(x+7)-12(x^2+7x)/x(x+7)=x^2+7x/x(x+…
13x-12x^2-84x=x^2+7x
11x^2-78x=0
x(11x-78)=0
11x-78=0
11x=78
x=78/11
x=0
{78/11, 0}
13x-12x^2-84x=x^2+7x
11x^2-78x=0
x(11x-78)=0
11x-78=0
11x=78
x=78/11
x=0
{78/11, 0}

13/x+7 - 12/x = -1
13 +7x-12 = -x
1 = -8x
x = -1/8
13 +7x-12 = -x
1 = -8x
x = -1/8
