First of all in this problem there is the way you will set it up. For 12pants It took 3 days to sow while for 78 pants we don’t know how many days let that represent x
Set up:
12pants = 3 days
78 pants = X days
Now we will cross multiply (12x) and 3(78)
We will end up with this equation
12x = (3x78)
12x =234
Now let solve for x which represents the number of days. We will divide both side by 12 so that we can have x byitself
12x/12 = 234/12
X = 19.5
Answer will be by rounding off
20days
I worked out all the steps and explained to you everything that I did so that you can understand. It was not difficult after all. If you keep practicing by following all the steps provided in the problem, pretty soon you will find yourself in front of a classroom and explain to your classmates how to work similar problem in heart beat. Good luck!

78/12 = number of days to sew the pants * 3 # of days for 12(Or you can sew 4 pants a day resulting in 78/4)
