Rewrite the division as a related multiplication. I dont understand what dividend, divisor, quotient means. What problem do I use to write the division to make it related to multiplication??......
If you rent the limousine for six hours, what is the average cost per hour? The average cost # is "426". When you solved this problem, which number was the dividend? The divisor? The quotient? dividend = amount you want to divide up. in this case "426".
divisor = the number you divide by. in this case "6".
quotient = the answer after you divide one number by another.

dividend / divisor = quotient

so...

426 / 6 = 71

The average cost is $71 per hour

so... 71 x 6 = 426

total = hourly * hours. Or
t = r * h

If the total is 426, you divide it by 6 to find the average -
426 = r * 6 or 6r

This can be rewritten as

r = 426/6

The divisor is 6, the dividend is 426, and the quotent is r. r = 71

Now, the point is that 6*71 = 426. Multiplication and division are inverse operations, one can undo the other.

If a*b = c then a = c/b. and b = c/a

Consider a simple division problem: 6/3=2

6 is the dividend. The dividend is the number divided into.
3 is the divisior. The divisior is the number you divide by.
2 is the quotent. The quotent is the number of times you can divide the dividend by the divisior.
