a) Let the function f(x) = e^(-2x).
Find a simple exact value for f(In3)

b) Let the function f(x) = e^x + 3e^(-x)
Find a simple exact value for f(In2)

remember that e^lna = a, and blna = ln(a^b)

a) f(x) = e^(-2x)
f(ln3) = e^(-2ln3)
= e^(ln(3^-2))
= 3^-2 = 1/(3^2) = 1/9

b) f(x) = e^x + 3e^(-x)
f(In2) = e^(ln2) + 3e^(-ln2)
= 2 + 3e^(-1ln2) =
= 2 + 3e^(ln(2^-1)) =
= 2 + 3(2^-1)
= 2 + 3(1/2^1)
= 2 + 3(1/2)
= 2 + 3/2
= 4/2 + 3/2
= 7/2
