I have a math problem

:)-{18,19,20,21, ........
what is a possible value of a in the inequality a+8>25 I know it is 18 expain the work

-
just work it out like a normal equation but with a greater than sign

a>25-8
a>17

therefore

anything greater than 17 is the answer.
which does include 18, but it isn't the only answer.

-
you can treat inequalities in the same way you treat equations - whatever operation you do to one side you must also do to the other side, to keep the inequality balanced.
for example, if x > 2 then x + 2 > 4

from a + 8 > 25
it follows that a > 17 (subtract 8 from both sides)
if a is greater than 17, a could very well be 18

hope this helps... :)

-
{18,19,20,21, ..............}

-
it could be 18 or anything higher.
you substitute the letter a for the number and then the equation makes sense...
