CAN SOMEONE SOLVE THIS MATH PROBLEM?!!!

[From: ] [author: ] [Date: 11-04-27] [Hit: ]
...That should be it unless youre solving for i, but sorry. Im too lazy to figure out your homework.......
(4-2i)(5+3i)

-
20-10i+12i-6i^2
20 +2i -6(-1)
26+2i

-
(4-2i)(5+3i)
First you have to distribute
4*5 4*3i
-2i*5 -2i*3i
20+12i+-10i+-6i^2
reduce
20+2i+6i^2
You have to list it in order of the x's/list them starting with the highest power of x

6i^2+2i+20

PS: the ^2 is a square sign
PSS: a little trick is called FOIL
First
Outside
Inside
Last

Hope this helps
Oh and PSSS: what grade r u in? Not to sound stockerish, but we r just learning this and i am in 6th grade....

-
Use FOIL
4*5 + 4*3i - 2i*5 - 2i*3i

= 20 + 12i - 10i - 6(-1) = 26 + 2i

(4-2i)(5+3i)
(2i)(8i)
(16i)
That should be it unless you're solving for i, but sorry. I'm too lazy to figure out your homework.

-
just factor:
20 - 10i + 12i - 6 i^2 = 20 + 2i + 6 = 26 + 2i
