In Chad the density of population is 8 persons per square kilometre. It is 0.1 in the Shara in the North to 20 in the southern one fifth. yet it has density below the African standard & far below in comparison to Eurasia. So Where is the problem, please specify.
Well, Chad is one of the poorest of countries, politically unstable (2nd ranking failed state after Somalia; and also high ranking in corruption index) as per Failed State Index and resource poor. That makes it unsuitable to support a good sized population even. The recent 'Darfur' (from neighbouring Sudan) population influx from east made it difficult for the country to cope; with itself suffering from problems arising out of a large ethnic unhomogeneity.
Population growth is because of increased health care available than before and increase in life expectancy due to better prosperity copared to earlier times. Much of the population is young which is an advantage, if only the rulers know how to put this to use to improve the economy. Ideally the economy shold match with the growth rate of population, at least.
