I know how to describe it but google can't find the right thing. I usually saw them in Social studies books. They are those maps that have a transparent paper that you can lift up and down and they would have highlighted parts on them that when they are set back down on the map it marks something out.
For example, it could be a map on Indian territory in the 1800's or something and there would be a piece of paper with a picture of the US outlined on it and a transparent paper on top where the territory would be highlighted and when the transparent paper was covering the map it would show where the territory was.
That's a pretty bad example but it might help. So do you know what those types of maps are or can you give me a URL link to a picture of it? Either one would be great.
I'll vote best answer by the way.
