RAT M say: A photon torpedo would be much more interesting .

supernovamike11 say: It would take a massive amount of energy to destroy a planet. So as far as proton torpedoes go (as they are generally known), no, it wouldn't do the trick.
The Empire probably wouldn't have built a weapon as massive as the Death Star if a simple proton torpedo had enough firepower to destroy a planet.

Alex say: Nope! The only reason that it did for the Death Star is that it went straight into the barely contained energies of a fully functional (and freaking massive) hypermatter reactor.
A single ProTorp into the core of the Earth might...might...make a volcano erupt but not much more than that.

roger say: the torpedo might the Earth will not
a Photon torpedo would be much more effective but still not big enough to make a difference to the Earth...
-
Acetek say: Nope. They do not exist
