Even the domesticated cat can run as fast as the fastest human in the world.

Lots of ways to answer this. My take would be that humans haven't needed to outrun things to survive. Our survival has depended more strongly on social and intelligence factors.
basically, we figured out how to catch animals without having to outsprint them, and how to prevent being eaten without having to outrun the pursuing animal. This is most commonly done by figuring out what animals will do before they do it, and acting in groups to outnumber the predator and prey.

bushwa is exactly right. To add one comment, humans are generally faster at addition and multilication than other land animals and most species of insects.

We do not have four legs and unlike the monkey we don't run on all fours.

We are a lazy group of people who don't know what exercise is, lol.

We don't need to be fast. When it comes to long distance running however, we'll leave any animal in our wake.
