How is electricity produced in a coal plant

[From: ] [author: ] [Date: 11-12-12] [Hit: ]
almost all electricity is generated by spinning turbines ( a turbine is usually magnets moving around a conductor to create an electric current) a coal power plant works my burning coal to create heat which is then used to turn water into steam which, steam has a larger volume than water and rises these fundamental elements of steam can be harnessed to create pressure and then turn the turbines-The coal is used as a heat source to boil water and turn it into steam. The steam is pumped into a turbine which spins. The spinning turbine is hooked onto an axle which then hooks into a generator. The generator has magnets on an axle that spins inside a copper coil. This creates electricity which they then send through power lines and straight into your house.......
