. pretty bad stuff, of course.UV light is also responsible for sun tans and sun burns. A hole in the ozone layer would permit more UV light to reach Earths surface. Global warming is not related to the ozone layer.......

The ozone layer is a part of the atmosphere which can block ultraviolet light that comes from the sun. UV light causes cancer, or blindness, or death . . . pretty bad stuff, of course. UV light is also responsible for sun tans and sun burns. A hole in the ozone layer would permit more UV light to reach Earth's surface. Global warming is not related to the ozone layer. Global warming happens because carbon dioxide in the atmosphere blocks heat waves. The heat, or infrared waves, should originate at the earth's surface and escape to space in a way similar to body heat escaping. This escaping heat should cool the earth (or your body). Since the atmospheric carbon dioxide blocks the heat, the planet cannot cool down.

Pure ozone is O3 (three oxygen atoms attached to each other) and global warming is the rising temperature caused by holes in our ozone layer crated by pollution.
