the equation is Fe2O3 + 3C --> 3CO + 2Fe

Fe2O3 + 3C --> 3CO + 2Fe
this says it 1 mole Fe2CO3 = 3 moles CO
so ratio is 3mCO/1mFe2CO3

if you have 3 moles Fe2CO3 multiply by 3CO/1Fe2CO3 = 9m CO and the Fe2CO3 cancels out
