How many different dichlorobiphenyl compounds, in which the two chlorine atoms are on different rings, can be isolated at room temperature ? (Disregard any steric effects.)

Put a chlorine on one ring and then one on the three positions of the other. Now do this with the other positions. Cross out the duplicates and you will find a total of six unique isomers.
