This problem is best solved by drawing out the face of the face centered cubic (FCC) cell. Drawing out a face, you have four atoms centered on each corner of a square, with one atom in the middle of the square. Assuming these atoms pack perfectly, the diagonal of the square equals 4X the radius of the atoms. 2 radii are from the two corner atoms, and 2 radii are from the center atom. Using simple trigonometry, we know the diagonal is the square root of 2 times the cell edge length. As a result, the radius of Ag equals (the cell edge length times the square root of two)/(4). The atomic radius is 144.5pm.
