The equation is:
Al (s) + HNO3 (aq) --> Al(NO3)3 (aq) + H2 (g)
I got:
2Al(s) + 6HNO3 (aq) --> 2Al(NO3)3 (aq)+ 3H2 (g)
but my chemistry textbook says it's:
Al(s) + 3HNO3 (aq) --> Al(NO3)3 +H2 (g)
I don't understand how?!?!? I thought I was right, because it balances? Can you please explain?

You balance the equation correctly. I think the book is wrong.

the book is wrong, the book I use for my students has mistakes in it.
