Years ago a doctor diagnosed me with something and for years after I told him several times something else was wrong. He would always tell me "it's all in your head" but when he finally did the test it turned out I was right. Now I sometimes think I should be in a hospital but when I ask him about it he just says "no". Could I be right or should I just trust his opinion?

So, you have a doctor that doesn't listen and refuses to test you for things.. And you're still seeing him WHY? Most diseases are maintained without being in the hospital- so he is probably right on that one. However, you really need to find a new doctor who will listen to you!

Of course he could be wrong. People are misdiagnosed everyday. This is the exact type of situation second opinions were made famous for.
