32 mg of a FAD containing enzyme was found to contain 800 microgram of FAD. This enzyme has a native molecular weight of 64 kD and is encoded by an 872 bp ORF. What can be said regarding the protein architecture and cofactor content of this enzyme.

Hello

the monomer has 872/3 = 290 amino acids
Molecular mass = 290*110 = 32 000 D
---> protein is a dimer.
------------------
32 - 0.8 mg protein = 31.2 mg protein = 31.2*10^-3/64 000 moles = 4.87*10^-7 moles dimer protein
---------
FADH2:
molecular mass: 785.55 g/mol
800*10^-6 g FAGH2 = 800*10^-6/785.55 moles = 1.018*10^-6 moles
----------
1.018*10^-6 moles FADH2/ 4.87*10^-7 moles dimer protein = 2.09
---> each monomer of the dimer has 1 molecule FADH2 bound.
