The mass of NaOH needed to produce 200mL of a 0.30M solution is

[From: ] [author: ] [Date: 11-05-27] [Hit: ]
Molarity = 0.=> # of moles = molarity x volume = 0.30 (M) x 0.2 (L) = 0.=> mass of NaOH = 0.06 (mol) x 40 (g/mol) = 2.......
a) 2.4g
b) 5.6g
c) 8.0g
d) 13.3g

please show working out because im not quite sure how to do, thank you so much :)

V = 200mL = 0.2 (L)
Molarity = 0.30M
***Molarity = number of moles / volume
=> # of moles = molarity x volume = 0.30 (M) x 0.2 (L) = 0.06 (mol)
Mass = # of moles x molar mass
=> mass of NaOH = 0.06 (mol) x 40 (g/mol) = 2.4 (g) --------> A
