Acids and Bases Equilibrium Question

[From: ] [author: ] [Date: 11-05-25] [Hit: ]
-your logic is fine - either one is OK.I would go with that that the base is stronger than the acid - it is a weak acid.......
An acid and a base are mixed in equal amounts and with equal concentration. The pH of the resulting solution is 8.5. Why is this?

I think it's either:

The base is stronger than the acid.
or
The base has 2 OH- groups.

Please explain your answer. Will give best answer.
