What does a large jump in the curve of a titration of a weak monoprotic acid with sodium hydroxide indicate?

-
During the beginning of titration, you reach a point where the pH doesn't seem to change. This is called the buffer region. When you finally break out of the buffer region there is usually a large jump in pH where you go through the equivalence point and eventually level off.
