How to do this physics question on speed

this case is about acceleration. When you drop something, it will accelerate with g = 10 m/s^2 due to gravity. You can determine the time it falls using x = 1/2 g t^2, where x is the distance it falls, g is the strength of the gravitational field and t the time it takes to hit the ground.......

question 7 d) ii). i thought that to find speed you have to do distance x time. but time isnt given. what do i do?

You probably meant distance / time, but no, this case is about acceleration. When you drop something, it will accelerate with g = 10 m/s^2 due to gravity. You can determine the time it falls using x = 1/2 g t^2, where x is the distance it falls, g is the strength of the gravitational field and t the time it takes to hit the ground. When you know the time, you can use v = g t, where v is the speed of the falling object after time t.
Good luck!
