Function of magnesium in plants

Magnesium ions are needed in plants for chlorophyll production.
Chlorophyll is needed so that the plants can photosynthesis (produce food - glucose)
Chlorophyll also gives plants their green colour, so if a plant has a magnesium deficiency, it won't produce chlorophyll and therefore the leaves will be yellow

Hope that helped :)

magnesium is present in chlorophyll the green pigment present in leaves which r responsible for
photosynthesis! :-)
