My sisters and I took a nail to a vine. Out came clear liquid. Is it poisonous?
I remember as a child reading something about fluids coming form a vine, that if it was a certain color you could drink it, but if it was a different color, you couldn't.

It depends on the species of vine. If it is something like greenbriar, a pea plant, or a grape vine it should be fine. If it is poison ivy it is probably toxic. You are safest not to eat anything you cannot identify. Childrens rhymes are often wrong and should not be relied on, especially since many old rhymes were created for use in Britain and do not apply to other countries.
