Energy Pyramid Question!

[From: ] [author: ] [Date: 13-11-05] [Hit: ]
because hawks eat rabbits.I seem to remember that only about 10% of the energy in one level is converted into the biomass of the next level, the rest being lost as heat.I could be wrong about the percentage . . .......
How do I draw a energy pyramid with alfalfa, rabbit, and a Hawk and how to tell how much food energy is available at each level!

-
Alfalfa forms the broad bottom of the pyramid, rabbits form the next not-so-broad level (because rabbits eat alfalfa), and the hawks form the narrowest top layer (peak) of the pyramid, because hawks eat rabbits.

I seem to remember that only about 10% of the energy in one level is converted into the biomass of the next level, the rest being lost as heat. I could be wrong about the percentage . . .
