it didnt look like an ant, or anything, but it really hurt and is a little swollen around the bite. i live in north georgia if that helps any

The only arthropod that might cause such a bite would be a blister beetle.
This does not mean your injury can't get infected from scratching, but a pustule is a sign of infection.
You might wash with soap and water, perhaps even soak in HOT water, and a topical antibiotic like neosporin is a good idea.
