Why don't antibodies have an effect on viruses

But vaccines havent been created for every single virus.Your body also makes antibodies against viruses but it cant get rid of all viruses because some viruses put their own DNA into your own cells DNA. It all depends on the virus. If you mean antibiotics, then they dont work against viruses because antibiotics break down the cell wall of bacteria or they block specific biological processes of bacteria. Antibodies do have an effect on viruses. That's why you get vaccinated for polio, the flu, chicken pox, small pox. But vaccines haven't been created for every single virus.

If you mean antibiotics, then they don't work against viruses because antibiotics break down the cell wall of bacteria or they block specific biological processes of bacteria. Viruses are basically genetic information in a protein coat. So they don't have a cell wall or biological processes that they can perform on their own. So antibiotics would have no effect on viruses.

Viruses aren't living, according to most biologists, so you can't kill them. Antibiotics are used to kill living things so since viruses aren't alive, the antibiotics can't kill them. But antibodies in the bloodstream and other places can dispose of them by clumping together and being exited with other waste, i believe. I think you mean antibiotics dont have an effect because they are used to treat bacterial infections and diseases, which are living.

Because antibiotics affect the bacterias ability to reproduce. In a certain sense viruses are not even alive as they cannot reproduce without another living organism. Bacteria are independent living organisms that feed on organic matter. A virus does not "eat" it infects and causes a living cell to reproduce the virus
